Michael Rosen – author, poet and broadcaster
Hackneyites
All the people in this Hackney-based photography project are all givers to the community. People who give back to their community play a vital role in creating a more supportive and connected society.
A poet or an author gives back by using their words to inspire, educate, and uplift others, sharing stories that reflect shared experiences. An elected Mayor contributes by advocating for policies and services that improve lives. A Police officer helps build trust and safety, protecting communities while forming meaningful relationships with the people they serve. A homeless shelter volunteer gives back by offering time, kindness, and support to those in need, helping individuals regain stability and hope. A solicitor by offering legal advice and representation to those who might not otherwise afford it, ensuring access to justice and protecting people’s rights.
Each of these contributions strengthens the fabric of a caring, resilient community and this selection of portraits is aimed at celebrating this.
