COVID Vaccination Volunteers

My first commission after the pandemic hit was to photograph vaccination centres to help with government public messaging.

The project’s main focus was on community leaders from the harder to reach communities to demystify the process of getting vaccinated and encourage more people in.

Inside these vaccination centres, where only a few months before were our churches, football stadiums, mosques or swimming pools, were many volunteers helping with the smooth running of each location and this triggered its own separate exhibition shown here. The mask couldn’t hold back the personalities of these generous people and you’ll see there is truth in the somewhat joke phrase 'smile with your eyes'!
